Google officially releases “More results” button on mobile search

It’s a fact that most of us spend more time on our mobile phones rather than our desktop computers and laptops. Google is surely aware of that and thus; the leading firm announced that it officially released a feature it has been testing for months – that is the new “More Results” button for mobile searchers on Google.com. A great UX update for Google Mobile Search At Josoor, we really like the new feature and we believe it will definitely make the search experience on Google’s search engine easier, more convenient and less confusing. Weren’t you ever in situation where you spent sometime searching for something on your smart phone and while you’re navigating through the SERP (Search Engine Results Page); your fat fingers couldn’t tap the page number you really want? It happened to all of us! And here is Google’s response to that. Couldn’t the button be colored? Maybe it’s just us, but there is a consensus among our digital marketing team here in Josoor Internet Marketing ‘s Cairo office in Egypt that although we understand that Google has a strict rule for simplicity in design with focus on functionality; yet we feel like that the new button is a bit hard to recognize amidst the different blue, grey and black text that could be seen on Google’s search results pages. What about coloring the new “More Results” button using any of Google’s brand colors? Do you agree with us? Whether Google listened to our suggestion or not, it won’t shake our belief that Google Search has been making lives easier for more than 15 years! If you have any inquiries on how to improve your website’s ranking on Google’s mobile search results; please contact us and we’ll get in touch with you shortly!

Egypt’s UBER vs Taxi War: A tough transition to the Digital Age

“We’re the real taxi, not the outsiders!”. This is the name given to the initiative that the Egyptian taxi drivers, mainly those from Cairo, organized to campaign against the rise of the ride hailing applications, UBER and Careem. The drivers are demanding the Egyptian government to shut down the 2 services by claiming they both operate illegally without proper taxes reporting. As a matter of fact, the world renown apps ( Download UBER here and Download Careem here ) came as saviors for thousands of Egyptian taxi riders who suffer from the low-quality service provided by the traditional taxi in Egypt, also locally known as the “White Taxi”, which turned from being a hope to leverage the back-then worse taxi network in Cairo into another nightmare for the capital commuters who always complain about its availability, rudeness of the drivers and the faulty fares always quoted to them in general. Sorry Taxi drivers, we caught you cheating using Google Maps Navigator! When the online bridges builders at Josoor Internet Marketing speak, they talk digital. So we caught a taxi driver in Cairo cheating, like many others do unfortunately, using the amazing Google Maps Navigator app (another digital service that, really, makes life better! Just like UBER and Careem do!). That happened when Josoor’s CTO, Ahmed Fawzi, took a trip from our office at the GrEEK Campus in Downtown Cairo to El-Haram district at the west part of the enormous capital. The trip was approximately 17 KM long and the “honest” fare should have been 25.4 EGP, but the taxi fare counter had another say, as it read that the car travelled for 22.1 KM and charged poor Ahmed for 35.20 EGP. Ahmed made his point and got back to using UBER happily. No sorrow to Cairo’s lovely taxi drivers! A bird’s eye view of the UBER / […]
